Short answer. A gutter sags or pulls away when the hangers no longer hold the run to a sound face, or when weight and wind load a run that was already loose. Hidden hangers are PrimeFlow’s residential practice on a standard run. Fascia repair is a different trade. This page does not publish a wind speed or a hanger spacing as code.
Sag is a geometry you can see from the ground.
A run that holds water in the middle, or that has dropped below the roof edge, is no longer carrying water to the outlet. Pull-away is the gap that opens between the gutter and the face it was fastened to. Both are reasons for a visit. Neither one tells you from the sidewalk whether the hanger failed, the face failed, or the trough is bent.
- Standing water away from the outlet.
- A visible gap at the fascia.
- Hangers that have left the face or twisted.
- A run full of wet debris after a storm.
Hidden hangers are the residential practice. Spacing is confirmed on the run.
On applicable standard residential runs, PrimeFlow uses hidden hangers at approximately 16 inches. That spacing is a PrimeFlow practice, confirmed for the property and written in the scope. It is not an ASCE 7 output and it is not a Florida Building Code section. ASCE 7 is the design-load standard the building code uses. A gutter estimate is not an ASCE 7 calculation, and this page does not publish a wind speed.
Wet debris and wind are loads. They are not a diagnosis.
A trough full of wet leaves weighs more than an empty one, and a storm can work a hanger that was already loose. Building America notes that aluminum can dent from a branch or a ladder. Those are reasons to look. They are not a measured load for the house. If the face the hanger uses is soft, rotted, or no longer in plane, a new hanger in the same face does not finish the job.
Fascia stays with the fascia trade
PrimeFlow does not repair or replace fascia, soffit, or roofing. When the written scope says the face has to be repaired first, that work is coordinated with the trade that does it.
Orlando and Sarasota repairs are different requests.
Use the Orlando repair page and (407) 902-7639 for an Orlando sag. Use the Sarasota repair page and (941) 404-3901 for a Sarasota sag. The same words describe the symptom. The access and the storm office are not the same.
Rehang, repair, or replace is the written scope.
A loose run on a sound face can be rehung. A split trough, a crushed corner, or a profile that no longer fits the roof can move the job to replacement. Replacement on an applicable residential install uses .032 aluminum and oversized downspouts where the property supports them. This page does not publish a price. PrimeFlow offers a 7-year workmanship warranty. The written agreement states it. The warranty covers installation workmanship. It does not cover a face another trade still has to repair, and it does not say insurance pays.
