01 / FIELD NOTE

Paved surfaces are the surface the state page names.

The Department of Environmental Protection’s stormwater page says to direct rain gutters and downspouts away from paved surfaces. A driveway, a garage apron, and a sidewalk are paved surfaces. The page does not publish a count of Orlando front-load garages, and this article does not invent one. The example is the layout: the garage door and the walk often sit under the same eave that needs an outlet.

02 / FIELD NOTE

A splash block spreads the outlet. It does not set a Florida distance.

Building America says a splash block at the end of a daylight pipe helps control erosion at that spot. The same national guide also describes termination distances measured in feet from a foundation. Those distances are not adopted here as Florida law, and they are not a PrimeFlow promise for a lot that has a sidewalk between the wall and the grass. The written scope states the direction the outlet actually uses.

  • Look at the apron, the walk, and the first planting bed during rain.
  • Ask whether the shoe points at concrete or at ground that can take the water.
  • A larger downspout does not choose the discharge point.
  • Do not open a public inlet or a neighbor’s yard as the default.
03 / FIELD NOTE

Oversized downspouts are a pipe choice, not a driveway plan.

PrimeFlow practice uses oversized downspouts where the property supports them, only as the drawing shows. A 3×4 is the common oversized option. A 4×5 is a separate review when roof area and the route support it. Neither size is a reason to dump the outlet onto the driveway because the pipe is larger.

04 / FIELD NOTE

The two markets keep their own phones.

Orlando and Central Florida requests use (407) 902-7639 and the Orlando downspouts page. Sarasota and Southwest Florida requests use (941) 404-3901 and the Sarasota downspouts page. A subdivision sketch on this page is an example of a front-load garage. It is not a Sarasota street and it is not an Orlando street count.

Workmanship warranty

PrimeFlow offers a 7-year workmanship warranty. The written agreement states it. The terms exclude site drainage, grading, and erosion from that warranty. Moving water off a driveway is not a promise that the yard never holds water.

05 / FIELD NOTE

The estimate shows the visible route.

A free estimate can mark the outlet, the elbows, and whether a splash block or a short above-ground extension is in the gutter scope. Buried pipe and regrading stay with the drainage trade. This page has no price.

Sources and limits

This page does not count Orlando subdivisions, and it does not turn Building America’s national foundation distance into a Florida rule.
